The Exciting 1101 Class Blog!

August 31, 2008 · 2 Comments

(Kate Zephyrhawke) Here’s a place for you to express yourself! When you find yourself tingling with anticipation and counting the hours until class meets again, you can dialogue with your classmates right here. I’ll have both classes use this same space– that way you’ll have to consider your audience when you write (i.e., how you may come across to people who have not had the pleasure of experiencing your charming personality in person). Remember to include your name and a picture (follow this model) so it will be easy to keep track of who’s who.

This was one of the most stressful projects I have ever had. I’m going to be honest and admit that it was an annoying but important project. Luckily, Ms. Zephrhawke was nice enough to address any concerns and help us out a lot. But I believe we still have struggles with citing and annotating correctly.
Even in class it took half an hour to cite ONE source. So if it took that long to cite a source with 20 students and a teacher, imagine doing it alone. There was some confusion at the beggining with the process of RefWorks but was cleared up after 8 emails, and 2 classroom days. I hope the next project won’t be as stressful. Just wanted to state my honest opinion on this project. As Ms. Zephrhawke stated this is the first year we are required to do this project, so it was new for both of us. When neither the student or teacher have performed the project, difficulties are going to arise. But we did our best, and hope we did it efficiently.
