Zach Fodor-300 the movie
My favorite movie would have to probably be 300. 300 is my favorite movie because of its plot and action. I love ancient history, and when I saw 300 I felt as if I was in the middle of a war. Even though 300 is historically inaccurate, the premise of 300 men standing up to an army of thousands still strikes me as an amazing feat. Often times, movies are able to depict battle sequences in vivid detail and the movie 300 did a perfect job of that. In the movie the 300 men use battle tactics such as the turtle shell, flanks and trickery. It was also very cool how the directors slowed different battle scenes so you could appreciate the toughness and vigor of the battle. I thought that the plot also was interesting to follow and loved how the directors of the movie were able to show scenes that occurred in Sparta, the senate and the battlefield. The costumes were amazing in the movie and I love how the directors depicted Xerxes as a gold laden villain. 300 is also my favorite movie because I was able to visit a museum in Rome, Italy and see some artifacts that were preserved from the actual last stand of the 300 Spartans vs the Persian army. Being able to see the artifacts firsthand gave me a sense of appreciation for the 300 men who fought and died for their land, pride and people.
